"Podlasie Dimension of Art" at the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic – European Art Center
at the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic - European Art Center.
The event will take place on January 18, 2025, at 4:00 PM
in the Exhibition Hall of the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic, Odeska Street 1.
As part of the Podlasie Dimension of Art project, two exhibitions will be presented: "Women's Republic" and "Białowieża Art Symposium 2024."
This exhibition showcases the artwork of the participants of the symposium, marking the revival of a historic artistic event. After years of hiatus, the Białowieża Art Symposium returned in October 2023. In October 2024, 15 artists from all over Poland gathered in Białowieża:
Iwona Ostrowska, Alicja Szkil, Bernarda Nikitorowicz, Magdalena Jankowska, Ewa Podlodowska, Daria Alicja Ostrowska, Sylwia Mużyło, Krzysztof Koniczek, Grzegorz Radziewicz, Daniel Gromacki, Piotr Brzozowski, Adam Ślefarski, Jakub Podlodowski, Barbara Bańka, and Sylwester Stabryła.
The positive energy of this event, the satisfaction of the artists, and the beauty of their works signal that Białowieża is once again thriving—even beyond the tourist season. The successful artistic gathering demonstrates that art is an essential foundation of the region’s cultural identity.
The Białowieża Art Symposium was organized by the Independent Art Gallery MARCHAND and the Podlasie Auction House.
The Podlasie Dimension of Art pays tribute to the region of Podlasie while exploring its uniqueness and undeniable charm.
The vernissage on January 18 will be enriched by a performance from Alicja Grabowska, a remarkable artist hailing from Białystok. She will present her latest original material, created with support from the President of Białystok’s Scholarship Program. Her work merges electronic music with the poetry of Morris Rosenfeld, offering an ambient interpretation of space and "the memory of place." This musical project weaves an emotional landscape of poetry that celebrates life, nature, and the urban sounds of New York. On stage, she will be accompanied by Rafał Grabowski (accordion, electronics).
The authors of the works are:
Bernarda Nikitorowicz, Barbara Drzemicka-Kardasz, Magdalena Dziejma, Katarzyna Krauze-Romejko, Magdalena Talmon, Krystyna Kunicka, Tatiana Kozik, Joanna Półkośnik, Daria Ostrowska, Ewelina Ramotowska, Barbara Piekarska Abou-Hilal, Alicja Szkil, Krystyna Kunicka, Elżbieta Grzybek, Beata Palikot-Borowska, Ewa Wiśniewska-Benedyczuk, and Karolina Dadura.
Curators:

The exhibitions will be open to the public until March 2, 2025.
