"Fallen Ideals" Opening Night

✨ Two perspectives. Two languages. Two sensibilities. One shared space for art.

🖼️ On Friday evening, we opened an exhibition at the Alfons Karpiński Painting Gallery, bringing together two distinct artistic worlds – Ewa Podlodowska’s “Decoratorium” and Jakub Podlodowski’s “Fallen Ideals”.

In the work of Ewa Podlodowska ART, the image begins with rhythm, colour and ornament. Small dots, lines, modules and recurring motifs form elaborate compositions in which animals, nature and the human body become part of a larger, pulsating structure.

The painting of Jakub Podlodowski takes us in a different direction – towards realistic landscapes, symbols and stories about the human condition. The “Fallen Ideals” series, inspired by George Orwell’s “Animal Farm”, becomes a point of departure for reflection on power, manipulation, violence and the transformation of values.

Two different ways of looking at painting. Two distinct artistic languages. And between them, a shared need to tell stories about the world through art.

🗣🎶 An important part of the evening was also a meeting with Jan Kondrak, the author of the ekphrastic texts accompanying the “Fallen Ideals” series. Word and image came together, creating another layer of the exhibition.
